About Trim & Tally
From jobsite to front desk to wellsite: bookkeeping with a controller's eye.
Hi, I'm Allison
I've spent 30 years in accounting. About 15 of those years I was the controller for several hospitality properties, responsible for month-end close, reconciliations, management reports and the numbers owners relied on. Most of my career has been in hotels, restaurants and lounges. I've also worked in renovation-type construction and hotel construction, including stocking new properties' inventory from scratch.
On the oilfield side, I've done bookkeeping for rig-moving and power tong companies, worked for a time as a truck dispatcher, and once completed a safety self-audit for a company. I know how field tickets, trucks and crews turn into invoices, and how long it can take producers to pay them.
I've been the business owner too. For 5 years I owned and ran a liquor, convenience and homemade takeout food store in an old house I converted, and I designed and built its kitchen myself. I know the owner's side: inventory, liquor, food costs and the till.
That means I already know how a renovation job's costs pile up, how a hotel's or lounge's revenue and supplies move, what an oilfield job really cost once the trucks are back, and what a clean month-end looks like. You get bookkeeping done the way a controller would want it done.
Why email only
I work by email only, on purpose. Everything is in writing, so you have a record of every question, answer and decision, and you can reply when it suits you, not between jobs, during check-in rush, or from the field.
What I don't do
I am not a CPA and don't do audits, review engagements, tax planning or income tax returns. I keep your books accurate and current so your accountant can do their part quickly and for less.
Software
QuickBooks Online (recommended for job costing and inventory), FreshBooks and Xero.
Ready when you are, by email.
